Starting out as a cuckoo brewery by avid homebrewers, our first beer was just a single cask of Golden Ale (4.5%) which sold out in 40 minutes at the Broken Drum micropub! Rebrewing that recipe saw it accidently shift from 4.5% to 5.7%. It worked out in the end though as this happy accident is still one of our most requested beers!
We paused production from 2021 to 2024, but have now set up our own space at a residential address (no visitors,please!) and look forward to brewing on a regular basis going forward.
Our signature beer has a smoky ham/bacon aroma which mixes playfully with tropical notes from the new world hops. Baked crust notes combine with pineapples to create a tasty beer which will win over most of the "you shouldn't have pineapple on pizza" crew!
We love making everything from low-ABV session beers through to strong imperial stouts. Our signature beers include Hawaiian Pizza Beer (smoked pale ale), Helbig (Dusseldorf-style altbier) and our Mathers golden winter ale. Special mention to Edd Mather who has come up with some cracking recipes for us.
